Moses understood that apart from God he could do nothing. He found that his authority as a leader was inextricably tied to the glory of God in his life. The people would follow Moses as long as they knew that Moses was connected to God. Therefore, Moses wanted to know God fully. He discovered that it is impossible to fully know God. However, we can know enough of God to get a taste of his awesome glory. To know God is to know his glory. We experience God’s glory (1) when we seek it; and, (2) when we proclaim it. We experience God’s glory as Jesus did, in three places: (1) The village; (2) The wilderness; and, (3) The mountaintop.
